This project aims to deliver a Village Plan for Moycullen in Co. Galway. It will act as a guideline for best practice in developing the village up to 2030. Ireland, and especially rural Ireland, still bears the scars of the developer lead property boom from 2003 - 2008. Moycullen Village Plan 2030 will act as a community authored preference for place making. Through innovative community engaged practice, the Plan will seek to put community concerns at the centre of the village’s growth. This will be an important statement, not just for the village of Moycullen, but can be a statement on the future development of rural Ireland. Central to this will be the wishes and the wants of the many over the profit maximisation of the few. A community that has a sense of authorship over its place is a community more engaged in its place. The project will run from June 2019 to December 31st 2019. Please keep an eye out for engagement opportunities. Have your voice heard through a number of fora (in person, as part of a group or online).
